Enter My Verizon Password to Continue Phishing

Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

If you forgot the password of your Verizon account then you need to go to the Verizon website then reset your account from there: https://ssoauth.verizon.com/sso/forgotFlowsV1/p...

After you have reset your password then go to Outlook app again then enter the new password again then select please check the "Save this password in your password list." option

Please let me know If the pop-up window on MS Outlook still persists, I will assist you with further assistance.

If you are unable to change the password of Verizon you need to contact the Verizon support team for further helps. Outlook desktop app can't change the password of an email account, the password needs to be changed on the email provider website.

Speaking of AOL email account, it requires App password as well, as explained in the following article: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com...

I'm having the same problem - email working fine for years and Outlook just started asking for pop.verizon.net password on July 31, 2021. You can try logging into mail.aol.com - I did that and it all works - used same @verizon.net email as login and current password and you can access your email. I've tried various settings for POP access, including trying the pop.aol.com server and nothing has worked. I am able to ping pop.verizon.net successfully.

Update: I found something that works. No explanation, but i followed the steps (pasted below) and Outlook access to email was restored. It does require accessing your AOL account, so if you forgot that and don't have a backup email configured, you may have to call them. Note that no other changes to the POP configuration was required same servers, ports, and SSL configuration. The only change was using the one-time password for Outlook Desktop generated using the AOL account.

  1. Open Aol Mail online, log into your account and go to your email page (all your verizon.net email will be there.

  2. On the upper right side under your email address, go to Options (dropdown) and select Account Info.  In the Account Info, click on Account Security on the left side.  On the very bottom you will see "Manage app passwords." Keep this page open!

  3. Go to Outlook and Add Account using your verizon.net email address.  Below where you insert your verizon.net email address, click on Advanced Options and check "Let me set up my account manually."  In the next window, select IMAP (if you use POP follow the same analogy).

  4. The next window will prompt you to enter your password.  Stop!

  5. Go back to the open Aol Mail Account Security page and in the "Manage app passwords" section, click to generate a one time app password.

  6. Copy this password and paste it into where you were prompted in step 4 (outlook).

I am having this issue as well with just one of my email accounts from Xfinity/Comcast (I don't use AOL). I spoke to someone at Xfinity who walked me through changing my password on their site, so now I can access my email directly through the Xfinity page, however, I still cannot access any incoming or outgoing emails for the same account through the outlook program. My other emails all work fine, however, the annoying pop-up box telling me to enter my email and password make it impossible to check my other email accounts because it keeps popping up every 30 seconds. I have researched several different things to try through the outlook program to fix this specific email address, but none of them have worked. I am about ready to just delete this whole email address. Please help me through the steps to get this issue fixed so the pop-up will stop blocking me from doing other work. I am using Outlook 2016 on a desktop computer with Windows 2010. Thanks.
